Connier Coats Nordan was born in Harnett County, NC, south of Raleigh, and his great-granddad James T. Coats founded Coats, NC with land he owned and as a community minister. Connier’s heritage includes Scandinavian and German while Coats is an English name. He has experienced events others would consider monumental and ominous. His innate intuition is unique and has been used to help others.
According to Connier, people oriented businesses and entrepreneurs whom are very successful model after very successful sport leaders who are able to communicate, lead via knowledge and example, and connect with their players and people in their organization. Successful and sought after team sports are indicative of life relationships; thus, successful people, and organizations, structure their lives and self-development in a specific way.
Faced with indigent and challenging environments as a youth, lessons were great for Connier. He leaned through personal and environmental detriments using education and sports to surmount and develop higher levels of thinking and intuition. He has worked to return these lessons and mental acuity to improve people, organizations, and society.
To this end, Connier has been vetted in the past for many opportunities within sport, government, military, and education to include the Air Force recruiting, medical school, physical therapy, the NFL and the FBI. And, he has helped many in varied professions, on a personal and professional level. He received an open invitation to speak at the NFL’s National Rookie Symposium, and was nominated and selected to the National Leadership Honor Society.
His personal interests include reading books, physical health, forestry and carbon agriculture/farming appreciation and preservation, and
he has a penchant for the arts, music and playing guitar while writing songs. He also has a children’s book to be published.
His current research with the United States Sports Academy is related to Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) within sub-concussive impacts of professional, college, and youth athletics and the relationship with four social mores: Awareness, Interest, Enjoyment, and Money.
