Health & Environment

“Whatever you are committed to is only as good as your commitment to yourself and your health.

A new consciousness is forming towards our food and health initiatives. Our focus is now on local farming and member owned cooperative business denatured by the effects of GMOs, heavy metals, preservatives, dyes, hormones, while we also must work to enhance the intestinal microbiome that has been affected since birth. Inflammation, oxidation, and our environment are a part of every aspect we experience in staying healthy. These must be addressed so we can nourish ourselves at the organelle level.

Food quality, Functional and Integrative medicine are expanding the medical association approach in resolving health issues; and, often designed to relieve symptoms. The health of our intestinal flora, the reduction of inflammation, and the autonomic nervous system are core components of health. Emunctory and lymphatic functioning is a major part of our health as well.

Carnivore, Vegetarian, Frutarian, Pescatarian, Herbivore or Vegan, the body needs a combination of foods in the proportion to the lifestyle and function it plans to perform. In every thing we consume, there is a push and a pull, a benefit or a detriment. An Olympic Bob-sledder uses food differently than a ballet dancer, a soccer player, a chess player, a musician, or an NFL athlete. Everyone has a unique bio-chemistry and genome. And, every culture over time adapts for survival by finding the combination with their own ecosphere.

Agriculture and farming is about nature and biology. Mass crop and animal production conventionally used is not working and will not work long term. While we must consume off the land and ecosystem, we also must protect our land and water in order to sustain our nourishment in the United States; to sustain as people and not rely on other countries for imports from soil we have no control.

As a collective, we have the power to change what is offered to us nutritionally. It behooves us to unite capitalism with biodiversity of nature for the future of our nation and world. Permaculture, Regenerative, and Organic farming, whether in mass or a small garden, increases the carbon our soil needs and these three need to be the goal we adopt. It can resolve the population growth and feed the masses.

Once in a while you stumble upon the truth,
but most of us manage to pick ourselves up and hurry along as if nothing happened.
